Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder on Voter Suppression

Join the IOP as we welcome former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder for a conversation on the state of voting rights and voter suppression as we approach the November 3rd general election. Mr. Holder is currently the Chairman of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, which aims to execute a comprehensive redistricting strategy to create districts where Democrats can compete.

In 2009, Mr. Holder became the first African-American U.S. Attorney General. He had previously served as Deputy Attorney General, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, and Associate Judge of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia – positions to which he was appointed by Presidents Clinton and Reagan. Since leaving office in April 2015, he has returned to practicing law at Covington & Burling LLP in Washington.

This conversation will be moderated by IOP Pritzker Fellow Jelani Cobb, staff writer at The New Yorker.
