Description

UPDATE: New location! This event has outgrown the IOP living room. To accommodate all who registered and joined the waitlist, we've moved across the street to the Center for Identity and Inclusion (5710 S Woodlawn Ave, Chicago, IL 60637).

Are you interested in a paid academic year internship? Do you want to learn more about Chicago area government agencies and nonprofits involved in advocacy and activism? If so, join us on Friday, September 30 from 12:30 to 1:45 to learn about the IOP's two internship programs: ACE (Activism and Community Engagement) and UPReP (Urban Policy and Research Program, in conjunction with the Urban Labs).

With a cohort of about 50 total interns, IOP Academic-Year Internships offer hands-on experience with organizations around Chicago. Students are awarded a $2,500 stipend to help support their placement in an internship lasting 160 total hours. Some of our internship partner organizations have included Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot's office, Chicago Public Schools, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Cook County Sheriff's Office, Illinois Justice Project, Latino Policy Forum, and Advance Illinois.

If you'd like to learn more about how to get involved with the ACE or UPReP academic-year internship programs, join the IOP for this info session. We hope you can join us!
