IOP 2022 Midterm Election Student Engagement

Details: Thursday, May 19th at 6:30 in the IOP Living Room

Interested in learning more about how campaigns operate and how the media covers politics? Wondering what will be the key issues in the 2022 Midterm Elections?

2022 is shaping up to be a pivotal election in American politics, and the IOP wants to help you learn about and engage in the 2022 Midterm Elections. Join the IOP for an information session regarding the brand-new Project Battleground dedicated to enhancing student understanding of and engagement with the 2022 Midterm Elections.

Students selected for Project Battleground will participate in a series of programs spanning summer and fall 2022, culminating with Election Day (Tuesday, November 8th, 2022). The cohort will have special access to events in a virtual summer seminar series for one-hour sessions spanning topics such as voter registration, staffing structures, management, canvassing, fundraising, opposition research, data analytics, insight regarding how journalists cover campaigns, and much more.

Members of the Project Battleground cohort will be awarded a $2,500 stipend in return for their participation and attendance at all Project Battleground events. Current 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years in the College are eligible to apply, along with current graduate students also enrolling in studies during the fall 2022 academic quarter. Students participating in a one year graduate program are unfortunately ineligible. A database of campaign job opportunities will also be made available to students.

Apply here to be considered for selection to the Project Battleground cohort. Deadline to apply is Monday, May 23 at 11:59 PM.
